About us...

Gaming Economics provides up-to-date research, insight and advice and helps to translate that into valuable, actionable steps for operators, suppliers or investors to achieve their business, operating or investment objectives.

It provides that insight and advice objectively and independently, and always operates on behalf of its clients' best interests.

Founded and led by industry veteran Lee Richardson, whose experience over the past 20+ years has included senior roles with totalbet.com, Coral-Eurobet plc, Chartwell Games, Boylesports and ONEworks, he has a depth of knowledge across a very broad spectrum of the sports betting and i-gaming industry from both an operator and supplier-side perspective.

Before entering the online industry in 2000, he was the first marketing director of the British Horseracing Board, launching Sunday racing with betting for the first time, and followed that by heading-up retail betting provider Tote Direct, where he led the team which introduced the award-winning Tote scoop6, the first new TV horseracing bet in 25 years.

Holding Personal Management Licences issued by both the Alderney Gambling Control Commission (AGCC) and the UK Gambling Commission (UKGC), Richardson obtained his MBA from the University of Strathclyde, is a past Fellow of the UK Chartered Institute of Marketing, and is a past Chartered Marketer. A published business author, he has a particular interest in the topic of return-on-marketing-investment.

Gaming Economics has international access to other selected associates, who possess equally wide-ranging and in-depth industry experience. Collectively, access to the GE network offers insight and practical advice on a wide variety of issues across a range of industry sectors, including sports- and pool-betting, casino games and i-gaming, including e-sports, and such closely-related key areas such as operating platforms, delivery channels and licensing options.

Richardson is also a co-founder of the Spectrum Gaming Sports Group -- a specialist unit of Spectrum Gaming, a widely-respected, US-based international non-partisan advisory group -- and has worked extensively within the US sports betting market since before the repeal of PASPA in 2018.
